Your Files Stay Private

DeckEdit does not collect, store, or transmit any of your documents or personal content. We have no user accounts and no advertising. Your files are processed entirely on your device and never leave your browser.

100% Local Processing

All document processing happens entirely in your browser using local AI models. Your files never leave your device. Here's what happens when you use DeckEdit:

• PDFs and images are processed using browser-based AI engines
• Text detection and recognition run on your device's CPU/GPU
• Generated PowerPoint files are created locally
• Nothing is uploaded to any server

External Resources

DeckEdit downloads AI models from external sources on first use:

• AI models are downloaded once on first use
• Models are cached in your browser for instant future loads
• No personal data is sent during this download
• After initial download, DeckEdit works fully offline

Anonymous Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our website. This helps us improve DeckEdit. Google Analytics collects:

• Anonymous usage data (pages visited, session duration)
• General device and browser information
• Approximate geographic location (country/city level)

This data is anonymized and cannot identify you personally. Your uploaded files and document content are never sent to Google or any analytics service. You can opt out by using browser extensions like Google Analytics Opt-out.

Session Analytics (Microsoft Clarity)

On our marketing and information pages we use Microsoft Clarity to see how visitors interact with the layout. Clarity is never started on the editor or the decks library, so your document work is not part of any recording. Clarity collects:

• Aggregate click, scroll and heatmap data on public pages
• General device, browser and screen information
• Page navigation paths within the public site

Clarity records the page structure, not pixels, so nothing drawn on the editor canvas can be captured. Deck titles, thumbnails and the text editing box are additionally marked as masked. Your uploaded files and document content are never sent to Microsoft. Details are in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Advertising

The founders (Keith Li and Roy Law, CEO and co-founder of TeamNote, a Y Combinator-backed company) are committed to keeping DeckEdit free forever. To sustain the service without charging users, DeckEdit will be supported by non-intrusive advertising in the future. We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google AdSense may:

• Use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites
• Collect anonymous data about ad impressions and interactions
• Use this information to show you more relevant advertisements

DeckEdit will never become a paid product. Ads are chosen to be non-intrusive and will not interfere with your workflow.

Your uploaded files and document content are never shared with advertisers. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
